I have had a opiphoney

So I called the muncie bariatric center and am now getting the run around...my primary physician is also saying NO LAPBAND..LOL They will ok it if I really want it but they dont like the fact that I am being kinda pushed into it... So I called the Muncie center again only to find out the surgeon has ONLY done 4!!!!lapband surgeries....I am now VERY not comfortable with this...I have been feeling very uneasy about going for the lapband which is a different feeling than I have had about the RNY(you know a gut instinct kinda thing)...So I gals and guys I have made my first appointment with Doc Jones it is on the 29th of August...talk to me! Let me know more about her and her presence! I have only heard good so far! I am now excited again to be on the RNY track again....Thanks for all the input!

Faith, I had Dr. Jones, and I have nothing but good things to say about her.  From what I hear, any of the Drs in that practice are great.  I was surprised by how petite she is.  She is very knowledgable, and is really supportive I think you are making the right decision to go to St. Vincent's.  You should feel comfortable with the procedure you are going to have.  No one should tell you what you should do.  Dr. Jones will talk to you about it, and help you make the decision (together). Oh I am so glad that you are following your instinct and gonig to St. Vincents--I think you will be pleased.  Four surgeries is not a good track record!  I have heard WONDERFUL things about Rosemary Jones--actually I wanted her originally but her appointments were so far out that I scheduled with Dr. Cacucci and I am glad that I did because I really like her (althought I am sure that I would like Dr. Jones too!). Keep us informed as you go along!!

I didnt have Dr. Jones but i have heard she is an awesome surgeon, not to mention her husband is a plastic surgeon and is said to be really good at getting  bariatric patients approved for plastic surgery after weight loss and i have also heard he is a great Dr. too.   I dont think you could go wrong with Dr. Jones............either of them. hugs, Carla

I had Dr. Cacucci but I met Dr. Jones in passing and she really is tiny!! It's funny. I've heard nothing but good things and according to what I've read she's helped my surgeon become what she is today and she's awesome soo..

I used Dr. Jones and things went great.  Surgery on a friday and home on Saturday after LRnY. I was blessed.

Now thats the kind of option I like! I absolutley LOVED St. V's and they do what YOU want! My gut told me to do a RUNY- everyone is differant, but for ME, it was the best decision I ever made! Good luck! Wishing you all the best in your journey to the "new you".

Hey there!  I had a feeling Dr. Sprunger hadn't done too many bariatric surgeries at all.  I know of most of the dr.'s in Muncie for my job, and he's been a surgeon here forever, but they just recently (like maybe 6 months ago) started doing any types of WLS in Muncie, so I had a feeling he hadn't done too many.  I had Dr. Jones, and I've been very happy with her.  I also had surgery on a Friday and was home on Saturday night.  She is very busy (popular!) so will sometimes make you feel a teeny bit rushed on your post-op visits, but she will take enough time to answer all your questions, so just be sure to come with a list. LOL.  This is after surgery.  She is very nice and I've also heard great things about her spouse re: plastics.  I'm keeping him in mind for later on.  I don't think you'll be at all disappointed.  One thing that is interesting is she no longer does any lap band surgeries, she says for ethical reasons.  She doesn't feel that they are effective enough for the risks involved.  I know she will gladly refer you to one of the other doctors in her practice if that is what you really want done, but she explained why in detail that she doesn't do them, and it really helped me in my decision as to what surgery to have.  Again, I've been very happy with her, and I think you will too.  Good Luck and let us know how your appointment goes!
